AFRICAN AMERICAN ART FESTIVAL
FEBRURARY 17, 2012 Every year, during Black History Month, America celebrates the invaluable contributions that the African-American community has made to the culture and history of our nation. This year the NACC will celebrate by hosting the African American Art Festival. The event will feature music, poetry, crafts, fine art, photography, and traditional African American cuisine.
MUSIC
“Celebrating Diversity: Songs of African-American Composers.” Grand Theater -4pm This musical performance by Buffalo Opera Unlimited will be directed by Tim Kennedy.
Included in the performance will be various Spirituals, Art Songs, Duke Ellington and Hymns of Charles Albert Tindley
ART EXHIBITS
The African American Art Exhibition
Main Gallery/ 12-8pm, with guest curator Ray Robertson. This multi-artist show features both professional and amateur African American artists. Art work ranges from traditional oils and watercolors to fabric, photography and sculpture.
The Art of Cheryl O’Loughlin:
Garden Gallery/ A solo exhibition of mixed media art.
RECEPTIONS
Refreshments will be available though out the day in both the Main Gallery and in the Garden Gallery.

the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center’s
(NACC) is Friday, March 9, 2012
from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Local specialty
beer-lovers, who appreciate good food,
great music and fun art, will pack the
NACC for the 6th Annual Art of Beer 2012.
This hugely popular beer and food tasting event promises to have something for everyone. With the overwhelming success of last year’s event, the NACC has expanded to include the Main Gallery and Grand Theater - 2 floors filled with Western New York’s most popular micro beer breweries, local food vendors, and live music.
“Thanks to our participants and sponsors, we had a tremendous turn out last year and we are expecting even more people this year” said Committee Organizer, Becky Dyster. “The Art of Beer is a wonderful showcase of our local breweries and restaurants and a great way to support the NACC at the same time.”
Event tickets are on sale now! You must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The ticket price includes a souvenir tasting glass with event logo, beer and food tasting, live music, 3 beer memorabilia collections on display, free parking and a good time for all!
Last years event featured : Niagara Tradition Homebrewing, Flying Bison Brewery, Certo Bros., Try-It Distributing, Alternative Brews, Consumer Beverage, Southern Tier Brewing, Green Mountain, Pearl Street Grill, Brickyard & BBQ, the Niagara Falls Conference Center, Villella's Ristorant Italiano, Lewiston Village Brew Pub, Wine on Third, DiCamillo’s, Tim Hortons, King of Keg, and the NACC Artisan Cafe.
